CWAKEME HS

Cwakeme High School is situated approximately 20 km from Hluhluwe, at Emdletsheni area in the rural community of Makhowe. There are primary schools and a clinic in the community. At he school of 688 youth are learning, both males and females. The newly renovated school provides education from grade 8 to grade 12. The school has one principal, one deputy principals and 20 educators. 

The school has got a talented ladies’ soccer team, coached by Ms Khoza and Mrs Mthethwa. In Emdletsheni community there is ladies soccer team that is coached by Mr.L. Shongwe. He is also from the same community. The name of the team is “Young Killers”. They team of eleven players consists of learners and adults from the community.



Since the beginning of the LdB women’s soccer project at school the management have been supporting us. We have participated in all of the ladies soccer workshops, games and most of the cluster trainings. We have also participated in the tournament, where one of our players won a trophy for being the best player.

The school has allocated time once a week on Thursday afternoon for sports practice. So the girls team gets to practice every Thursday during school hours.
