"The Flying Dutchman" took hearts of the Malmös audience by storm when she - despite the injury absence in the final few matches - became the best goal scorer of Swedish league in 2008 season. Admittedly, together with Umeå's Marta, but still a fantastic result for Manon who came to the club in 2007.
She self honours her individual forward coach Jan Mattsson, better known as "Little-Damma" who  rubbed her finishing from the distance, with her head and in the penalty box. Manon plays for Dutch national team and has guided her team to the European Championship finals in Finland. Speedy, audacity and technical characteristics of the little player with great game sense who learned the Swedish language in record time through SFI in Eslöv. But Manon was not just there to learn the language, but to meet people from other cultures.
- There were many different people, one from Thailand, one from Iraq, etc. You learn a lot of socializing with others "says Manon.
