I am having fun at school this year and i enjoy every minute of it . Being a soccer player you are always on the spotlight everyone wants to see if your succes as footballer will filter down to my academic performance . I am also involve in the stage play ;we call ourselves SCREAMING EAGLES. For the past week during Easter holidays we were perfoming in Johannesburg in front of the big crowd in one of the theaters. What a show everyone was clapping hands and we couldnot believe what we have done . I hope to send pictures of our show next time.

Hi everybody!

Always special to play for Iceland, my country, and play with my ice-people:) I have´t played with the team for a while, because of my knee injury, but now Im back and just enjoying being here again. During summer holidays i went to visit my family in Richardsbay and met my old friends that we last met in the beginning of last year. We went to the beach met so many people, playing football on the sand with girls from sarroundings and to the mall to play computer games Which were very exciting.
Richardsbay is different from Mbazwana where I stay for school, it is big city with a lot and beautiful houses where Mbazwana is a small town with a lot of activity because it is closer to the popular Sodwana Bay. People in Mbazwana live on selling natural grown fruits and tubers like sweetpotatoes and Amadumbe (natural potato). I will tell you a lot next time

I am a sixteen year old girl who believes in our tradition because it teaches respect , humour and ubuntu. Although sometimes education and tradition clash but combining the two results to a complete human being. At home we are not allowed to wear trousers as it is perceived to being in disrespect of our ancestors . When I am playing soccer I wear it but as soon as the practise or the game is finished I change to my normal clothes . By obeying house rules you become immune to doing things the right way . Hope to talk more about this issue in future

Hi everybody !

Soon the football season is over for us, we just have our own cup this weekend left.  The cup is called Gunry trophy. This is the second year we have it. Last year we won against a team called Bollebygd. And this year we hope we win again. After the cup our indoor season begins. We are going to play an indoor cup too in December.

The school is also going great. We don’t have so much homeworks right now, and in three weeks we have autumn-vacation. It's gonna be nice to relax for one week, just hope the weather is good. Right now it’s raining and blowing a lot.. but today it’s sunny and great weather to play football. We have training today, and it’s gonna be fun. Now we need to train much before the cup.

Hope your football is going great.
Big hugs from Onsala Bk.

Friday, love it!!

Big game coming up

Hej!

This week we look forward to our big game on Sunday. It's the final game in the cup of all the teams in our county.

F95 Prisutdelning Eskilscup2009small-1.jpg

I almost can't belive we're in the finals! The team we're going to meet is called Getinge IF, we have met them before this summer and then we won with 2-0. Of course it's important that we give all we have because it's gonna be a hard game.

This monday we trained with the ladies team in our club, we almost always practice together. It's was horrible weather, but nothing can stop you from playing football, right?

We practice this wednesday too, but our coaches says that we're going to meet and watch the Sweden-Malta game on the TV instead of training. We have to rest our legs for the weekend, you know. ;) Sweden must win to have a chance to go to the World Cup finals in South Africa, I sure hope they do.

Here's a picture of our team when we won Swedens second biggest cup this summer. There were 48 teams in our age group. We played the final in a huge arena and to win was really a dream coming true.

Regards, the girls in Onsala

Hi from Iceland!

Hi everybody!

Hope you are doing good and enjoying life :) Im on Iceland now, practising with the Icelandic national team. We have a game against Serbien on Saturday and then we are off to Finland for Europian championship! It is a big thing here on Iceland that we are playing in that tournament, so we have a lot of interviews and things on TV and stuff. And the craziest thing is that they have made a movie about the team and the way to the goal, to be one of the top 12 teams in Europe. The population of Iceland is only 320.000, as many as in Malmö... so we may not have the 22 best players in the world, but we play with the biggest heart and play for our country and we go for our dreams. And that is the same as we do in this prodject, Star for Life. Go for your dreams and make it possible. That is what we in the Icelandic team say to each outher every singel time we play.

I love being home for few days, not so often I can be with my family and friends here. I little bit cold here now, only about 8-10 ´C and no sunshine...but maybe tomorrow, you never know. Going to a swimming pool now, love bathing!

Have a good day, practise hard and enjoy fotboll and life :)

If you have any questions about fotboll, Iceland or whatever then just ask :)
